About

Liber Meus is an arena-based interactive fiction engine powered by AI. The goal is to capture the feel of a solo tabletop role-playing game: you describe what your character does, the game plays the role of game master — narrating the world and adjudicating outcomes.

Liber Meus is independently developed and operated by Witold Klimczak. It is under active development, and features and content continue to evolve.

How the Game Works

  • You write actions in your own words. Type what your character does — "search the body", "ask the guard about the keys", "swing the chair at his head". The game responds in narrative.
  • The game decides whether actions succeed. Each action is rated for difficulty and resolved by deterministic mechanics, not AI improvisation. Saying "I easily kill the dragon" doesn't make it easy.
  • The world remembers. Characters, objects, and choices persist across turns. What you do in one scene can echo many turns later.

Game Modes

Scenario mode — curated, multi-act stories with hand-authored characters, locations, and goals. Each scenario spans several acts; reaching the end of Act 1 is the beginning, not the end. Pick this if you want a designed arc with a definite shape.

Random mode — the AI generates the world, the hero, and the emerging story from a few words you provide (e.g. "cyberpunk space station", "ex-pilot smuggler"). There is no fixed ending; quests appear organically as the story unfolds. Pick this if you want open-ended exploration.

What This Is Not

  • Not a free-form chat where the AI agrees with whatever you propose.
  • Not a Choose Your Own Adventure with preset options — you write your own actions.
  • Not a quick one-session experience — both modes are designed for longer play sessions.
